This inaugural event promises free access to a dazzling array of art, music, and vibrant gardens. Mark your calendars for this fantastic opportunity to connect with your community and explore the artistic offerings of the area!
A Day Full of Exciting Activities
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., over 20 host sites will showcase unique events. Walk between venues and discover live music, engaging performances, and even an art auction featuring local artists. Whether you're interested in doodling your masterpiece at an open studio, joining a drum circle, or participating in a fun-filled kids’ bingo, WalkUP has activities for everyone. Be sure not to miss the exciting Shakespeare in the Rose Garden!
Getting Involved and Giving Back
What makes this event even more special is its community spirit. Attendees are encouraged to bring donations of school supplies and non-perishable items, benefiting the Communities In Schools Tutoring Center and the Feed The Pack Food Pantry. The first collection site is conveniently located at 2502 Mayview Road, where you can also gather maps and get invaluable information about the event. Every contribution counts!
Fun for the Whole Family
Children can become "Explorers," equipped with printed maps that lead them to at least ten sites for a fun-filled adventure. With each visit marked, they'll be rewarded for their curiosity at the Info table at Raleigh Little Theatre. This perfect family-friendly atmosphere allows parents to unwind while kids engage in creative crafts and activities!
Make a Day of It!
As you explore University Park, take the time to appreciate the local culture and arts while engaging in meaningful conversations with fellow attendees. Whether you're a resident or new to the area, this event marks an excellent opportunity for social connection and fun.
